Gustar Exercises: Me gusta, me gustan

In Spanish, you don't say "I like pizza". You say "pizza pleases me": _Me gusta la pizza._ The thing you like decides the verb form: _gusta_ for one thing or an action, _gustan_ for many things. Learn the pattern here, then try the exercises about food, hobbies, music and sports.

The rule

Me gusta or me gustan?

  • Singular noun: Me gusta el café.
  • Infinitive (an action): Te gusta nadar. / Me gusta leer y cantar.
  • Plural noun: Nos gustan las manzanas.
  • Negative: put no first: No me gustan los lunes.

The pronouns me, te, le, nos, os, les

  • yo → me, tú → te: Me gusta el tenis. ¿Te gusta?

  • nosotros → nos, vosotros → os: Os gusta la playa.
  • ellos / ellas / ustedes → les: A mis amigos les gusta el cine.
